Our
new 145.490 repeater went on the air September
1, 2011.
The commercial grade rack
mounted equipment consists of a Kenwood TKR-750 radio, CAT
1000 Controller, 100 watt Henry
amplifier, duplexer and power supply. The antenna is feed with
hard line and is mounted on the east side of the county
communications tower, 80 feet above the Sandusky County EOC at
2323
Countryside Drive, Fremont, Ohio. The repeater and our radio
room are located in the secure lower level of the complex with
emergency power generator backup. The repeater will provide
emergency communications for the citizens of Sandusky County when
activated by the Emergency Management Agency Director.

We
have completely updated our Amateur Radio Emergency Service
(ARES) Radio Room at the Emergency Operations Center with new
computers, LCD TV, HF tuner, wall maps and more. The new
computers have StormLab and InterWARN weather software, FLDIGI
communications software and internet access. Operation manuals,
forms, area repeater frequencies and other documents are
organized for easy access. Equipment Operator Instructions are
updated and posted. Training was held at our June 2011 ARES meeting.
